“For all have sinned”
Is a truth we bear
From start to end;
And its wage we share
With foe and friend.
Not one will death spare,
But to hell send
Each kept in sin’s snare,
Last judgment rend,
No hope from despair.
BUT
This need not be
If we will believe,
Our sin we flee,
Repent, not deceive.
So accept we,
What Christ did achieve,
Hung on a tree,
Our guilt to relieve.
Christ’s love we see;
His gift we receive.
NOW
In Him we find
Release from sin’s wage,
True peace of mind,
Joy we can gauge,
Love clearly defined,
Hope for an age,
No need to rewind.
We from earth’s stage
To heav’n are assigned,
Life to engage.
